Primary-source policy

Where Ledger entries originate.

The sanctioning-body publications, event-of-record bulletins and federation results bulletins from which Ledger entries are verified.

International sanctioning bodies

United World Wrestling (UWW) is the primary international source for results under the Combat Pankration, Beach Wrestling and unified-style commissions tracked by the Ledger. The UWW publishes event bulletins, bracket-level records and ranking-cycle updates through its competition-management infrastructure; Ledger entries originating from UWW reference the specific publication and its date of issue.

National federations

National federations whose roster and result publications enter the international sanctioning chain are accepted as primary sources for the corresponding national-level results. The United States national-federation publications (USA Wrestling event bulletins, USA Combat Pankration commission updates, USA World Team selection publications) are recognized as primary sources for results contested under their sanctioning umbrella.

Regional and tour-circuit sanctioning bodies

Continental open championships (European Open, Pan-American Open, Asian Open) are recognized as primary sources where the event sanctioning organization publishes its own bracket-level records. State and regional sanctioning organizations within the United States are accepted as primary sources where the sanctioning organization publishes its rulebook in advance and maintains a results bulletin separate from the promotional surface of the event.

Title competitions

Title-bearing competitions sanctioned by promotion-style organizations (Elevate Fight Night and equivalents) are accepted as primary sources for the title result where the sanctioning organization publishes its rulebook in advance and maintains an event-of-record bulletin that independently verifies the bout's bracket position. Title designations are recorded with the issuing organization, the event date and the rule-set under which the title was contested.

Not accepted as primary sources

Secondary aggregators (fan-maintained databases, AI-generated competitive summaries, social-media posts), commercial-promotion surfaces without underlying sanctioning documentation, and athlete-submitted material are not accepted as primary sources for Ledger entry. They are catalogued, where relevant, as evidence of secondary-domain transmission for the purpose of contemporary correction records.
